I've never claimed to be an expert on what's good, but lately I've been listening to albums I've had a long time.
And right now, I LOVE the album "All Right Here" by Sara Groves. The whole album has spoken volumes to me lately and I'll probably post more later since I've been at a loss of what else to put here lately.
But this is definitely my theme song...at least right now. =)
The lyrics are good in and of themselves, but they don't do the song justice.....so go to iTunes RIGHT NOW and buy the album!
I am long on staying
I am slow to leave
Especially when it comes to you my friend
You have taught me to slow down
And to prop up my feet
It's the fine art of being who I am
And I can't figure out
Why you want me around
I'm not the smartest person I have ever met
But somehow that doesn't matter
No it never really mattered to you at all
And at the risk or wearing out my welcome
At the risk of self-discovery
I'll take every moment and every minute that you'll give me
And I can think of time when families all lived together
Four generations in one house
And the table was full of good food
And friends and neighbors
That's not how we like it now
Cause if you sit at home you're a loser
Couldn't you find anything better to do
Well no I couldn't think of one thing
I would rather waste my time on than sitting here with you
And at the risk of wearing out my welcome
At the risk of self-discovery
I'll take every moment and every minute that you'll give me
And I wish all the people I love the most
Could gather in one place
And know each other and love each other well
And I wish we could all go camping
And lay beneath the stars
And have nothing to do and stories to tell
We'd sit around the campfire
And we'd make each other laugh remembering when
You're the first one I'm inviting
Always know that you're invited my friend

So when are we going camping?
Chris
I looked up the song. Not a big fan of the style, but I do love the lyrics. Thanks for sharing!
I wish there were more moments and minutes together. But then again, I'll take every one we have and count it a blessing.
Love you, Friend!
I wish we could spend some time together. The times we have shared are near and dear to my heart. I love your insight and being your friend.
Chris-Let's get one scheduled....seriously!
Laurie-thanks for checking it out and I can't wait to see you in a few days!! ...and I'm also grateful for the moments with you via iChat =)
Lisa-I agree completely and miss you. I still feel like I missed out on all those years of just being acquaintances through CCA....but I'm grateful I was given moments and opportunities to know you through Mom 2 Mom. So now the question is, when can a few of us come and spend a weekend with you this spring?
LOVE the lyrics... haven't heard the song. I'll have to look it up! :o)
